HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – Police in Hartford responding to a domestic violence call – ended up being threatened with a weapon by the suspect.
Police say on Friday, officers arrived to Bugbee street and interviewed two female victims with visible injuries. They were both sent to Dartmouth health for treatment.
Officers went to speak with suspect – John Beane – when he emerged from a second-floor window and told the officers that he had a gun and intended to shoot.
After several hours of a stand off and negotiations, Hartford Police left the area.
According to police, on Saturday afternoon, Beane’s relative called and said he was having a medical emergency.
Crews found Beane in a semi-conscious state barricaded in a bedroom.
Beane declined treatment, and police arrested him for one count of 1st degree aggravated domestic assault.
Crews transported him to Southern State Correctional and he is being held without bail pending arraignment on Tuesday.
