BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – There are some new options for farmers to get their soil tested locally.

The University of Vermont recently announced a new Soil Health Research and Extension Center. Previously, testing had to be sent to out-of-state labs. Now, officials say local testing will provide new insights into Vermont’s soil conditions and strengthen collaboration between researchers and local farmers, driving sustainable soil management practices.

Cat Viglienzoni spoke with UVM’s Joshua Faulkner about what the service will offer.
