WASHINGTON (WCAX) – New York’s former governor, Andrew Cuomo, was on Capitol Hill Tuesday to testify behind closed doors for the House COVID Select Subcommittee.
At the center of the investigation is Cuomo’s pandemic-era policies on COVID-19 regarding nursing homes in New York.
The Democrat faces a number of allegations published in a 2021 report by the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James that indicated the number of COVID nursing home deaths in New York was higher than the Department of Health was reporting. It also said the state’s requirement that COVID patients be admitted into nursing homes may have put residents at risk of death.
