ALBANY, N.Y. (WCAX) – Money is on its way to dairy farmers in New York trying to cut down on their carbon hoof-print.
Governor Kathy Hochul has announced $21 million for on-farm projects to help farmers improve their water quality and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Under the program, farmers will get help implementing projects to increase manure and nutrient management and carbon sequestration.
This is the latest move to support dairy farmers from Hochul, who declared June as Dairy Month in New York.
