NEWPORT, Vt. (WCAX) – Police are searching for the suspect in a bank robbery in Newport.
It happened Monday at about 9:45 a.m. at the Passumpsic Savings Bank on Gardner Street.
Newport police say the man passed a note to a teller demanding cash in large bills. They say he threatened the staff and warned them he had a gun but did not show it.
Police say he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and was seen leaving in a black BMW with New Hampshire plates.
