New Hampshire sues TikTok alleging harm to children

CONCORD, N.H. (WCAX) – New Hampshire on Tuesday announced a lawsuit against TikTok.

The lawsuit says the app violated the state’s consumer protection statute, among other laws.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella says it’s their latest attempt to try to address what they call “serious harms posed to children by addictive social media platforms.”

The lawsuit claims TikTok exploits children by getting them to spend as much time as possible on the app for profit.

It also claims TikTok downplayed risks to kids and touted safety measures it knew were ineffective.
