Sen. Welch to hold flood recovery hearing

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – One year after last summer’s flooding, Vermont Senator Peter Welch is chairing a hearing about the state’s flood recovery.

The hearing, titled “The State of Rural Infrastructure: Emergency Response, Recovery, and Resilience”, will feature testimony from Vermont leaders and government officials.

It comes on the heels of Welch’s Rural Recovery Act, which would automatically provide Agency of Agriculture Rural Development state offices emergency recovery funding after a presidential disaster declaration.

The hearing kicks off at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon.
