Concerns for welfare of missing Enosburgh woman, police say

ENOSBURGH, Vt. (WCAX) – Crews on Thursday continued the search for a missing woman in Enosburgh. Roberta Martin, 82, was reported missing Wednesday and police say there are concerns for her welfare.

Thursday morning, Martin’s home was taped off with troopers in the area. Police said that on Wednesday night, they launched a full search for Martin, with drones in the air and a K-9 crew on the ground.

Family members are growing increasingly concerned about Martin. Vermont State Police say the last time the family heard from her was by phone late Tuesday night. Neighbors reported her missing on Wednesday morning after they went to check on her and found she was not at her home.

Police say they are investigating the circumstances of Martin’s disappearance and there are concerns for her welfare. In cases of missing persons, state police often include information that investigations are not considered suspicious. However, in this case, they did not do that.

One of Martin’s family members told WCAX News they are seeing fake posts circulating about Roberta making false claims. They want the public to know Roberta Martin is able-bodied and does not have dementia.

Roberta Martin is about 5′1″ and weighs 115 lbs. She has white hair and brown eyes.
