PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – A new mural focused on this year’s total solar eclipse is going in at the Plattsburgh City Beach.
The mural is one of many that’s being carried out by Outside Art, a public art project in the North Country.
The artist, Andrew McGill, who teaches high school art in Saranac, says the beach’s mural is meant to capture the moment thousands experienced during the celestial event back in April.
He says the wall is being split into different panels that have different themes, like follow your path and speak your truth.
“There is a lot of potential here because this is where people gather and we want those messages to be kind of projected out into the community, McGill said.
He says the mural’s first phase should be completed by August and unveiled in September.
