BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Help could be on the way for Vermont farmers impacted by flooding.
On Friday, Governor Phil Scott requested that the United States Department of Agriculture issue a Disaster Declaration for Vermont.
The declaration would open the availability of finance assistance including low-interest loans for producers in approved counties.
Gov. Scott says that many farmers still hadn’t recovered from last year’s flooding when they were hit again this summer.
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture is asking any farmers who sustained damage to report it to 211.
