BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A two-vehicle crash in Grand Isle resulted in the death of one person.
Just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, St. Albans police responded to a crash on Route 2 in Grand Isle.
Police say 53-year-old Richard Meissner had been rear-ended by 26-year-old Shantel Lafountain of Champlain, New York, while both cars were traveling north on Route 2.
Both were transported to UVM Medical Center, where Lafountain was pronounced dead.
Police say Meissner was wearing a seatbelt, but it is unknown if Lafountain was wearing one.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call the state police.
