Funnel cloud near Adams caught on video

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – An Adams man caught a funnel cloud on video in Jefferson County on Wednesday afternoon.

Ty Edmonds sent us the video through Send It To 7. (See the full video below.)

Ty says he was driving from Watertown to Adams when he saw a strange-looking cloud formation.

He tells us he pulled over at 2:27 p.m. on North Park Street in the village of Adams to shoot a video of it.

Ty says the cloud “definitely had a twist to it” and that it lasted a couple of minutes before it broke apart.

7 News weatherman John Kubis says there were indications of wind rotation in the Adams area at the time.

There’s no indication the cloud touched down on land.

As for Ty, he says he stopped to take video of the funnel cloud because he had “never seen anything like it before.”

Thank you, Ty, for sending it to us!
