BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Burlington man accused of stabbing a woman multiple times showed signs of mental health concerns leading up to the incident, authorities said.
Kevin Calero-Alvarez pleaded not guilty Friday afternoon to attempted second-degree murder.
He was arrested shortly after the incident on Greene Street Thursday morning. Police say the victim, Rosa Ivania Nunez, suffered multiple stab wounds following what they were told was an unprovoked attack.
Court records show Calero-Alvarez voluntarily admitted himself for psychiatric treatment just two days before the incident.
He’s now being held without bail. We don’t know the condition of the victim.
