RANDOLPH, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police say a Royalton police officer is now facing several charges stemming from an incident of domestic violence.
Police say Jakob Oliver, 30, Woodstock is an officer with the Royalton Police Department. He was cited on Friday.
State police were called in to investigate on Tuesday after a report was filed by the victim with the Randolph police.
Investigation revealed Oliver was physically violent with the victim, prevented her from calling police, and restricted her from leaving the home. He’s charged with domestic violence, second-degree unlawful restraint, and interference with access to emergency services.
We don’t know Oliver’s current employment status with Royalton police. Oliver is scheduled to be arraigned in Orange County Court on Monday.
