WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) – A New Hampshire man accused of killing a man in Vermont has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
Court documents say Paul Lachapelle, 28, of Littleton, was paid in cash and drugs to kill Justin Gilliam, 38, in Springfield in June 2022.
In court Tuesday morning, Lachapelle pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail.
The Windsor County state’s attorney would not comment on whether additional charges are pending, citing an ongoing investigation.
