DERBY, Vt. (WCAX) – The pup dubbed Bucky the buckethead dog is being returned to his owner.
We first told you about the dog a week ago when photos of the animal with a bucket stuck on its head were shared across social media.
It was estimated the dog had been living in the woods around Derby on its own for about a month.
A team was able to rescue the dog and bring him to a shelter to recover.
Now, Derby’s animal control officer says the dog’s owner has paid all the necessary fees to get the dog back.
The officer, who also set up a GoFundMe to help pay for costs to bring the dog into good health, says she has now refunded the donations that were made.
