BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – Class is in session but one Vermont school district is still trying to pass a budget.
Residents in the Barre Unified Union School District will be headed to the polls again on Tuesday, trying to pass a school budget for the fourth time.
The $53.3M budget is more than $2M million less than the first vote back on Town Meeting Day but is still a $3.6M increase from last year’s school budget.
Barre is the last school district that hasn’t passed a budget after many struggled to win over voters this election season.
