Flood recovery funding available in N.Y.

MORIAH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Empire State residents who got waterlogged this summer could be getting a lifeboat.

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that applications are available for eligible homeowners impacted by flooding this July and august.

It’s a program by Homes and Community Renewal that will fund up to $50,000 in emergency housing repairs to make homes safe and habitable.

The cash is first-come-first-serve for residents in eligible counties, including Essex and Franklin.

Those grants will be available until they are out of funding. Applications are open until October 7th.
