BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – The Windham County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a scam caller impersonating a deputy.
They say the caller claimed to be Capt. Michael Wells issuing a warrant for their arrest for a missed court appearance.
The sheriff says it’s an important reminder to never give your personal information to unknown callers, even if they seem legitimate.
They say if you get one of these calls, don’t give out any information and contact your local law enforcement agency.
