Another move for Plattsburgh’s Greyhound bus station?

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Another possible move for Greyhound in Plattsburgh.

The current bus station is at the former farmers market facility in downtown Plattsburgh on a month-to-month basis.

But town officials say the planning board unanimously approved an application for a new transportation station at an old Sunoco on Route 3.

Trevor Cole, the director of planning and community development for the town, says before the move, the board wants the owner to install up to eight seats inside, a 24-hour bathroom and baby changing station, and enough signage and space for buses to pull in and out.

They also want the station to remove a gas pump to allow buses to park.

“From a traffic standpoint, Exit 37 is there, it’s proximity to the highway and other services for people being in the area. If you want to buy lunch somewhere, you could. So, it is around a lot of services, which is good. It was simply about the geometry of that site,” Cole said.

Officials say the property owner has already met most of the planning board’s requests.
