BROMLEY, Vt. (WCAX) – Atop Bromley Mountain’s new observation tower, hikers can take in 360-degree views of southern Vermont.
The original wood tower was built in the 1960s but was taken down due to safety concerns 12 years ago.
A new 40-foot steel tower now sits in its place atop Bromley Ski Resort.
Visitors can access the tower via hiking or chairlift and enjoy views of other ski resorts like Stratton.
Members of the Green Mountain Club say it’s an opportunity for Vermonters and visitors to reminisce.
“Folks down in southern Vermont claim it’s a four-state view so you can get up there and and see a bunch of Vermont and then our neighboring states, as well,” said Keegan Tierney of the Green Mountain Club. “A lot of folks grew up with it and it was a big part of their coming of age in the outdoors and to be able to put that back and let folks enjoy it again is huge.”
The lift to access the tower is open every day from now until mid-October.
