Vt. Medicaid to discontinue coverage for at-home COVID-19 tests

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The clock is winding down to get free over-the-counter COVID-19 tests.

Starting on Tuesday, the Vermont Medicaid program will no longer cover at-home COVID antigen tests as part of the pharmacy benefit program.

Coverage will continue for tests administered by doctors, clinics, or hospitals enrolled in Medicaid.

The change comes on the heels of the American Rescue Plan Act, which only required coverage through September 30th of this year.
