PLAINFIELD, Vt. (WCAX) – The sale of Goddard College has fallen through again.
The school says the nonprofit Greatwood Project/Collective Well partnership was unable to secure funding to purchase the campus in Plainfield.
The board of trustees says it will now explore other options and interested potential buyers.
The experimental liberal arts school announced in the spring that it would be closing after years of turmoil.
The board’s initial offer in May to an undisclosed private buyer raised a chorus of objections from former students and staff. That deal subsequently fell through.
