Vt. treasurer’s office distributes $1.7M for Vermonters going to college

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont treasurer’s office is distributing $1.7 million for Vermonters to pursue higher education.

The funding, which is this year’s earnings from the state’s Higher Education Trust Fund, will be split evenly between the University of Vermont, Vermont State Colleges, and the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation for non-loan tuition assistance to Vermont students.

Since its establishment in 1999, the fund has earned over $30 million.
