BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Skirack, an outdoor sports store in the Queen city, hosts an annual winter gear swap this weekend.
Skiers and snowboarders were able to shop for used winter equipment in good or better condition. The shop said they received over 500 pieces of outdoor winter gear to help stock the event, ranging from skis, snowboards, boots and snow shoes.
Burlington residents Calista Hanna and Anna DeRoche said the trade-in makes winter sports more accessible to others.
“A lot of these are in perfect condition and can be used again so, I like it. It’s very eco conscious,” DeRoche said.
It is really nice to be able to rent for cheap, then go buy some skis as well for cheap, Hanna said. “If it is not your number one hobby, it’s still nice to be able to get stuff. Having it be affordable.”
The trade-in runs through Sunday, October 20th.
