Public safety community listening sessions kick off

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont has been on the receiving end of some destructive weather, with floods that changed the lives of many residents. Now, the state wants to do a better job at keeping you in the loop when the worst happens.

Tuesday is the first of two Public Safety Communications Task Force listening sessions.

They’re asking you to weigh in on how the state communicates in emergencies.

The sessions are part of an act to develop a more reliable public safety communications system.

At sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday night, you can share your experiences to help the state develop a public safety plan.
