BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is touting a major milestone ahead of drug takeback day on Saturday.
The health facility says over the last seven years, the Medsafe drop box has collected over 3,000 unused medications.
The system allows for the safe disposal of unused or expired controlled substances and over-the-counter medications in an effort to keep them from being abused, sold, or flushed.
While the box in the front lobby allows for disposal anytime, this Saturday is National Drug Takeback Day.
