BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Your community could be re-energized thanks to new clean energy loans.
Senator Peter Welch is celebrating $40 million in cash for rural communities and school districts.
It’s thanks to the Rural Energy Savings Program which offers low-interest, long-term loans for clean energy projects.
Welch helped reauthorize that program as part of the farm bill.
He will be joined by community leaders in Charlotte at 12 on Monday to celebrate the first loans from the program on their way to Vermont.
