BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A man serving a 60-year to life sentence in the bludgeoning death of a Burlington convenience store worker has died in prison.
Samuel Wright Jr., 29, was convicted of killing Kimberly Giroux, 26, in a 1986 robbery at Champlain Farms in Burlington. She was stabbed and beaten. Richard Aiken, 18 was also killed but prosecutors didn’t have the evidence to connect Wright to his murder. The incident led to the business to be locally known as “murder mart.”
