LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – Officials in the Upper Valley are reporting very high turnout at the polls on this Election Day.
Tuesday morning, the line going into Ward 2 in Lebanon, New Hampshire, almost reached the curb.
Two races we’re following closely in the Granite State are the race for governor and for the 2nd Congressional district. Neither contest has an incumbent vying for reelection.
We asked voters if they think this election will be fair.
“I think that each state is putting together their best effort to create a safe and fair election. I think New Hampshire is doing a good job with that,” said Nichole Rogovoy of Lebanon.
“The process is so local and so familiar to people and people are careful but they are not suspicious. The atmosphere is very, very much unstressful,” said Kate Forbush of Lebanon.
This ward in Lebanon was randomly selected during September’s primary for an audit which is now required by state law.
Most polls in New Hampshire are open until 7 p.m.
