NEW YORK (WCAX) – A representative from our region urged people to get out and vote on this Election Day.
Tuesday morning, New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik was on “CBS Mornings” supporting the Trump campaign, and also urging people to get out and vote.
“So my message to the American people is get your vote out. It is so important. Stay in line at the polls. Make sure your voice is heard, and we want to encourage everyone to turn out to vote,” said Stefanik, R-New York.
She says she believes people are excited to make their voices heard.
Stefanik, one of the top-ranking Republicans in the U.S. House, is seeking her sixth term in office on this Election Day. She faces Democrat Paula Collins, a cannabis tax attorney who lives in De Kalb Junction.
Polls in New York close at 9 p.m.
