BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont Treasurer Mike Pieciak has won the race to retain his seat.
The Democrat claimed victory Tuesday night over his challenger, Republican Joshua Bechhoefer.
“This my friends is a future within our control, one that can be achieved by working together. We can make this state stronger. We can grow our economy. We can provide for our neighbors and we can make life more affordable in Vermont,” Pieciak said in a speech.
Pieciak, who was born and raised in Brattleboro, held the top job at the Department of Financial Regulation before being elected to office in 2022.
Bechhoefer, a political newcomer, grew up in Addison County and received a degree in economics from UVM. He currently works as a credit analyst at Farm Credit East.
