BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Doug Hoffer has won a sixth term as Vermont Auditor of Accounts.
With 78 percent of the votes counted, the Associated Press called Hoffer the winner over Republican H. Brook Paige by a margin of 61-to-38 percent.
Hoffer has held the position since 2013. He has said his office has published numerous audits, scrutinizing everything from state economic development incentives to health care reform.
Perennial Republican placeholder candidate H. Brooke Paige was running for both secretary of state and auditor.
