WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Williston voters have rejected a $400,000 bond to improve and expand the parking lot behind Town Hall.
The measure lost by a vote of 3,339 to 2,922
City officials have said the lot needed to be re-leveled to address ongoing issues with pooling water and ice in the winter, as well as adding some more light poles to address safety concerns for employees.
Voters also turned down the project last Town Meeting Day, but with a new grant and re-evaluation of the project, officials were able to shave the price tag down by $60,000.
