PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – Good news for the Lake City, Plattsburgh could save big on next year’s budget.
Two of the city’s credit ratings got upgraded by Moody’s investor service. Moody’s says the city has shown consistent financial management with careful budgeting and fiscal policy.
While positive, the report says the city has high long-term liabilities mostly in the form of post-employment benefit obligations.
Plattsburgh’s mayor says the rating boost means significant savings for the 2025 budget.
