Volunteer day for new Wadhams hiking trail

WADHAMS, N.Y. (WCAX) – Getting involved with a new hiking trail on the ground floor.

Saturday, Champlain Area Trails hosts a volunteer event to build a new hiking trail in Wadhams, New York.

The newly conserved land will boast the trail, tentatively named after its late owner, former state legislator Franz Leichter.

Volunteers can pitch in starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, clearing tree limbs, and fallen logs, and creating a level surface to hike on. Organizers say to meet at Dogwood Bread Company to carpool to the site.
