BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – The city of Barre is under a boil water notice following a water main break late Thursday.
Officials say it happened on South Main Street between Ayers and Boynton Streets. Crews worked overnight to fix the repairs and residents South of Ayers Street were without water Thursday night.
South Main between Ayers and Mill Streets are down to one lane.
The low-pressure system was restarted Friday morning but a boil-water notice remains in effect systemwide.
City Hall offices are closed Friday due to the lack of water and will be closed Monday for Veterans Day.
