WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) – You may have noticed Stewart’s Shops across New York have suspended ‘tap to pay’ services.
The chain says it’s due to fraud.
The company said the first incident of fraud took place last month when illegally obtained credit cards were used to get tobacco products and alcohol. The company said the scam has happened since at multiple stores.
‘Tap to pay’ was shut down days later and Stewart’s says it does not know when the service will return.
