Republicans pick new Vermont Senate minority leader

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Republicans have picked new leadership in the Vermont Senate.

This week, Senate Republicans held their caucus, voting by secret ballot to select newly elected Caledonia County Sen. Scott Beck as minority leader.

Beck replaces Franklin County Sen. Randy Brock.

The Republicans control 13 seats in the upper chamber along with Republican Lt. Gov. John Rodgers to the Democrats’ 17 seats.
