3 horses die in eastern Vt. car crash

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Three horses are dead after a car crash in eastern Vermont.

It happened Friday, but Channel 3 learned about it Wednesday morning.

According to police, it happened just before 10:30 on the night November 29th.

23-year-old Hayden Hatch was driving on Route 25 in Topsham when he reportedly hit and killed two horses that were in the road.

Not long after, a 3rd horse died from its injuries.

Police say hatch left before they got there, but was found the day after.

Hatch is charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

We still don’t know why those horses were in the road.
