BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Ski racing superstar Mikaela Shiffrin continues to recover after complications from a puncture wound she suffered during a crash at Killington last month.
Ski Racing Media reports the 29-year-old’s condition worsened after initial treatment for the wound to her abdomen and that she underwent surgery last Thursday.
Shiffrin was on track to win her 100th World Cup when she crashed.
The Burke Academy alum says it’s too soon to predict when — or if — she will return to the slopes this season.
