BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – People took advantage of the sun Sunday to get out on the ice at Arthur Park.
There’s about ten inches of ice, with upwards of 1500 people visiting on a weekend.
People were ice skating, ice picking and exploring the ice caves.
Many were excited about getting more ice time as the pond wasn’t open as often last year.
“I think there was only a little of the pond being open last year. So I am super excited that it’s been open for long enough to get here this winter. Being able to come here between studying and work and stuff, so yeah,” Anna Toole of New York said.
Parks and Rec want people to be mindful of the wildlife that lives on the pond, and make sure your dogs are leashed.
