Search crews find body of missing 14-year-old swimmer in Vermont river

MORRISTOWN, Vt. (WCAX) – Police say the body of a missing teen swimmer was found in the Lamoille River on Thursday morning.

Morristown police say the 14-year-old boy was reported missing in the river on Wednesday shortly before 6 p.m.

Crews searched the river for the teen Wednesday night below the B Street Power Dam until about 8:50 p.m. and resumed the search Thursday morning.

Investigators say Thursday at about 9:30 a.m., the Morristown boy’s body was recovered.

They say it appears to be an accidental death. The body will be sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
