Suspected rabid fox in Woodstock put down

WOODSTOCK, Vt. (WCAX) – A suspected rabid fox that had been plaguing the Woodstock area has been put down.

Woodstock Police last week said they received multiple reports of an aggressive fox approaching visitors in the area of Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park.

An NPS spokesperson says the fox was killed Thursday night and has been sent in for rabies testing.

If you see an animal behaving erratically, contact a game warden.
