MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Because of the dry, windy weather, officials extended a debris burn ban to four Vermont counties.
That means people in Bennington, Rutland, Windham and Windsor counties cannot apply for burn permits.
The ban ends next Monday.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, most of the state is experiencing drought conditions, presenting a risk of wildfires.
